It’s a known fact there are other places to purchase ethnic foods than your local Whole Foods or other major grocery store chain. But where to go is perhaps what’s unknown to most people. Do a search for “ethnic grocery” on Yelp and venture out and into an ethnic market, like A Grocery Warehouse in Echo Park. It can make for quite the shopping experience and, from the look at the price tags on these pics above, your wallet will at least thank you.
Other markets that have saved me time and time again include HK Market (2 branches: Koreatown and Glendale), Super King Markets (in LA—Highland Park/Eagle Rock adjacent—Altadena and Anaheim), Grand Central Market in Downtown LA (also known for some quick and incredibly tasting food) and Seafood City in Eagle Rock.
